Pope Francis is embarking on the longest, arguably most grueling trip of his pontificate: a 12-day sprawling tour that will take him to four missionary countries: Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore.
Today, the Vatican released Pope Francis's message for World Mission Sunday 2024. In the text, the Pope reflects on the Gospel parable of the Wedding Banquet, where the king tells his servants “Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find”.
It is a pleasure to address these few words to you as the envoy of Pope Francis to the United States.
